This camera especially designed for surveillance and observation in day/night or reduced visibility conditions (fog, smoke…) are based on a modular design.

A binocular viewer provides superior display and comfort to the user. The viewer is detachable from the RUBY main body for remote and safe operation. The RUBY camera can be operated from a standard battery pack or from external power supply.

The modular design allows operating the camera in three basic configurations:

• "Portable" configuration: the 3 modules, "camera", "lens" and “detachable binocular viewer” are assembled together. The camera is powered by Li-Ion battery pack. All the commands and controls of the camera are available from the "camera'.
• "Remote" configuration: the image visualisation is done through the “detachable binocular viewer” linked to the "camera” by a cable carrying the video & the command signal. All the commands and controls of the camera are available directly on the “detachable binocular viewer".
• External monitor" configuration: the Ruby can be connected to a standard monitor using its video output. Moreover, Ruby can be powered directly from a 7-14 VDC external power supply. It allows Ruby to be used mounted on the top of a car.
