Emerald LR is a high performance third generation thermal camera designed by Cedip Infrared Systems and mainly dedicated to fixed position surveillance applications, performing passive observation, detection and recognition of targets by day and nights, even in bad weather conditions.

Emerald LR makes use of the latest generation of high quantum efficiency MCT focal plane arrays, operating in the 3-5µm waveband, in full snap shot mode. The third generation IRFPA detectors are of two dimensions matrix types cooled with long durability coolers.

Based upon considerable experience in developing advanced, yet robust, radiometric solutions the Emerald LR Series combine high performance with unmatched operational flexibility. Incorporating sensitive MCT focal plane array sensor, state-of-the-art 14-bit digital electronics and motorised optics in a compact, weatherproof housing the LR Series camera are the perfect choice for thermal IR measurement in airborne, naval or ground operations.

Based around a novel innovative trifocal optical design each Emerald LR camera uses motorised lenses (25, 80 and 320 mm focal length), switchable by a single command, to provide optimal detection, recognition & identification capabilities at distances ranging from 5 to 25 km. Operating with Cedip's intuitive ALTAIR software LR Series cameras provide 14-bit digital data stream out to display IR imagery as well as to offer radiometric calibrated data..
