“Optical Micromanipulation System”

Abstract – A focused laser beam (using high numerical aperture objectives) provides enough optical force (in the order of piconewton) to physically hold and move microscopic dielectric objects in aqueous medium. These forces has been used to study a variety of biological systems. It is commonly known as an Optical Tweezers.
