Nikon AX / AX R with NSPARC

Improving on Perfection

Confocal microscopes have been commercially available now for over 25 years. How can newer iterations of a fundamentally simple instrument continue to innovate? What changes can redefine how a confocal is used, and what data can be collected? Introducing the Nikon AX/AX R Confocal Microscope System, our 10th generation point scanning confocal, giving you more of everything: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), expanding the number of colors, improving pixel density, sensitivity and speed.

These are significant additions in terms of expanding the range of experiments possible with a point scanning confocal, while increasing the usability and functionality of the instrument, all in a modular and upgradable platform.

Nikon AX is the new standard in confocal imaging.

Igniting New Confocal Imaging Potential

The newly developed Nikon Spatial Array Confocal (NSPARC) detector utilizes an ultra-low noise detector array to collect a two-dimensional image at each scanned point. This method of image scanning microscopy (ISM) improves signal-to-noise ratio by increasing the available signal level while simultaneously allowing imaging with lower excitation power.

Single-photon sensitivity and array detection extend the capabilities of the AX system by revealing unseen details in every image, while array detection pushes the boundaries of resolution beyond the theoretical limits.

Photon etc-NIR-II Preclinical Imager

Imaging in the Second Biological Window

IR VIVO is an infrared multispectral imager for small animal studies. This system benefits from reduced light scattering, absorption and auto-fluorescence by using a detection system in the near and short-wave infrared. Visualize your biomarkers in vivo  and in real-time with optimized contrast resolution and sensitivity. IR VIVO takes advantage of the most recent developments in SWIR imaging with an ultra-low-noise InGaAs camera (Alizé 1.7 or ZephIR 1.7), novel homogeneous illumination and powerful analytical software to provide an unprecedented combination of fast, high resolution and deep imaging.

Key Feature

  • High spatial resolution
  • High temporal resolution (real-time dynamics)
  • Non-ionizing & non-invasive
  • Good penetration depth (10x greater than traditional visible optical systems).

Photon etc – Infrared Microplate Reader (ClaIR™)

Excite your probes at any wavelengths to validate their NIR-II emissions

The ClaIR NIR-II microplate reader is able to capture full fluorescence spectra from 900 nm to 1600 nm and the transmittance spectrum from 500 nm to 1600 nm. Using the included software, the ClaIR plate reader can perform a range of endpoint and kinetic applications. The instrument comes with your preferred laser-based excitation sources, which can be complemented by a high-power tunable light source. An optional benchtop probe is available, extending the capabilities to in vivo measurements.

Photon etc – Laser Line Tunable Filter (LLTF CONTRAST™)

The Laser Line Tunable Filter (LLTF CONTRAST) is a non-dispersive patented (US patent 7557990) optical tunable bandpass filter based on volume Bragg gratings. It combines very high optical density (> OD6), an outstanding out-of-band rejection, and a wideband tuning range across the visible (VIS) and infrared (NIR, SWIR). The LLTF can be customized to cover the entire 400 nm to 2500 nm spectral range with a high spectral resolution.

It can be coupled with a wide variety of broadband sources, such as supercontinuum, to create a tunable laser source. It can also be used as a cleanup filter for spectroscopy applications.

There are numerous possible LLTF configurations whose spectral range and bandwidth can be finely tuned to fit specific needs. The specifications below of several tried-and-tested standard models may serve as a starting point.
